Morning Side Of The Mountain

Tommy Edwards was an R&B singer, pianist, and songwriter in the 1950s. He had a few hits on the pop charts too. "Morning Side Of The Mountain" first charted at position 24 in 1951. A subsequent re-recording of the song reached number 27 1n 1959.

His most successful record, though, had topped the Hot 100 the previous year. It too was a re-recording of a 1951 song, and it also has the distinction of being the only number one pop hit to have been written by a former Vice-President of the United States.
